From the 10th to the 13th October SMEG exhibited its very latest domestic appliances as part of an international trade show “I Saloni Worldwide” in Moscow

2012 was the 8th edition of the “I Saloni Worldwide” exhibition, this year there were more than 500 exhibitors (a mix of Italian and Russian companies) and over 40,000 professional visitors including architects, designers, journalists, critics and trades people. The visitors came not only from Russia but also from surrounding states such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine. 2012 was a great success and saw a rise of nearly 15% on previous years visitor numbers confirming I Saloni Worldwide as an event which is seen in the trade as a benchmark for Italian Home Furnishings.

SMEG showcased its new Cortina range at the exhibition: products on show included 45cm wide oven prototypes and a hob with Swarovski crystal controls, the sparkle of which were visible from a distance and attracted a great number of visitors to the stand from professional stylists and designers to connoisseurs of fine interiors. The black and cream CC9 range cooker also impressed visitors with its practicality and unique colonial style design, and it had a worthy competitor - the regal Victoria TR4110 Range Cooker with 3 oven cavities and designed in a traditional style.

The Linea range also impressed with its modern looks – especially the new SF122TN oven in black glass. Not only aesthetically pleasing this model also comes with 5 cooking levels and boasts a 72 litre capacity.

The stand also showcased a variety of built-in dishwasher models, including the new STP364 with 14 place settings and 9 programmes, 5 of which are traditional and 4 professional allowing a full wash in a matter of minutes.

Smeg 50s-style appliances were also exhibited, and visitors were particularly wowed by the FAB Denim fridge, produced in a limited number of just 500 pieces. The denim fridge is not only striking, it is also very practical - in order for it to be used in a domestic setting the material has been carefully treated with a special nano-technology which protects the surface of the fridge from water, oil, milk and fruit juices etc. Lovers of Russian history were impressed by the Smeg red fridge with USSR symbol, which would undoubtedly be a striking addition to any interior.
